I am a current college mechanical engineering student. The fascinations of space have led me to pursue engineering and I plan to work in the aerospace field after college. Words cannot express how elated I would be to be given the chance to go to space. It is truly my life goal to make it there one way or another. But how would sending me benefit others? I have been quite fortunate to have been given the opportunity to fly in zero gravity as the culmination of a research project. After the amazing experience, my research team presented our efforts and results to several schools in the area in order to spark interest in space exploration. I believe that as a race we have driven focus to other things. While there are other pressing matters in the world, we must continue to explore the cosmos. Some of the most innovative technologies came out of the space race. I would utilize the experience by outreaching to young talent around the nation and world.
