Ever since I was a kid I was always fascinated with space, whether it was staring at the skies above or watching videos of space shuttle launches or even star wars. I always wanted to be an astronaut but the dream was too far out of reach. Now I would like to realize that dream with this contest not just for me but for my kids. I now have 3 kids, a 5 year old, 4 year old and a 2 month old. Even If I am only an astronaut for a few weeks while training and for the flight it would show them that you can be whatever you want to be in life.
My kids enjoy looking through the telescope and reading books with facts and pictures about space with me. I would love to be able to tell them I was up in space; I saw the curvature of the earth with my own eyes. I think we would enjoy the pictures and the story for a lifetime and of course I would share these stories and pictures with the metro readers.
