I truly believe that mankind must put aside its differences and focus on colonizing our solar system. I've always wanted to experience weightlessness and view our planet from above, to see our planet's curvature and see what a tiny mote it is in the vastness of space. I'm sure that there will be an overwhelming response to this contest and as I try to differentiate myself from others I realize there is no particular reason why I should be chosen over anyone else. Perhaps fortune will smile upon me. To see the stars, unblinking, without our atmosphere to intervene; to escape the well of gravity and feel truly free for a moment; to participate in a once in a lifetime opportunity; these are some of the reasons why I wish to venture outward, above our atmosphere.
