Ever since I was a little girl, I envisioned myself going to space one day. My ultimate dream job is to be the pilot who takes tourists to space on a regular basis. It seems like a farfetched aspiration but seeing this contest has made me realize how far we’ve come. It shows that commercial spaceflights are becoming more accessible and relevant to our society. The once silly childhood passions can now be fulfilled and shared! As a university student, I am often torn between being realistic and being ambitious. It is realistic to get a job at an aerospace company but it is ambitious to pilot the next spacecraft to take people to space. However, I have not given up on my dream. In addition to school, I am working towards my commercial pilot’s license, building a lunar robot as part of a design team to compete at NASA, flying gliders at my local soaring club, and enjoying every minute of this life adventure!
