I am 22 years old, about to graduate from the University of Alberta with a degree in Earth and Atmospheric Sciences with a Specialization in Environmental Earth Science. Space has always been an enormous passion in my life. Since becoming an astronaut was not a feasible option (mostly to my parents) I focused my studies on what I could - Earth. Through my education I have come to the realization that this planet and the human race is in trouble. I have made it my goal to change that trend. Space exploration could be the door to many discoveries in order to save our own blue planet. There could be renewable energy out there somewhere, or a habitable planet for humans to live on if our population continues to exponentially increase, or even other lifeforms that could expand our minds and shock us into realizing what we are doing to this beautiful place we call home. At the very least, I could look down on this amazing rock from millions of miles above and realize how truly blessed we are
